Experiment as a blind person

Great to see you guys! In today's blog, I brought my fresh experiment to you!

As I mentioned in the first blog, I was planning to do a social experiment and experience their life myself. Here it is!




these are some of the video clips and photos my mom took when I did the experiment. As you may noticed, since I do not have a blind crutch at home, I used an umbrella to navigate the things in infront, and it actually works pretty well☺

During my experiment as a blind person, I encountered several obstacles that made it clear just how DIFFICULT it can be to navigate the world without sight.😟
I stumbled over curbs, misjudged the distance of obstacles, and had trouble finding my way even in familiar places. I also had to rely on strangers for assistance, which added an extra layer of anxiety and vulnerability. And of course, many of the obstacles I experienced is matched to what I researched online. 

Overall, reflecting on my experience as a blind person, I am struck by how difficult it was to complete even simple tasks without my sight. The experience was humbling, and it gave me a newfound respect for those who live with visual impairments every day. It also made me realize how much work needs to be done in terms of improving access and acceptance for guide dogs in China. Although I was only blindfolded for a short period of time, the experience left a lasting impression on me. I am more committed than ever to advocating for greater inclusion and understanding of the challenges that individuals with visual impairments face.

As I mentioned in mt first blog, I want to do a social experiment to feel the inconvernience myself. And  before doing that, I might first need to learn about the social experiment: what it is, and how to perform it?  Great to see you again, dear readers! This week, I'll be happy to share with you the differences in guide dog acceptance between China and other countries! As you can see in other countries, especially Western countries, guide dogs are very common, but in China, no! Why is that--you may find the answers in the this blog ☺ One possible reason for this difference is cultural attitudes towards dogs in China. Dogs have a long history of serving functional roles in Chinese society, such as hunting or guarding livestock. However, they have traditionally not been seen as pets in the same way they are in many western countries. As a result, people in China may not understand the role of guide dogs or be accustomed to seeing them in public spaces. Another reason could be related to accessibility infrastructure. Challenges Blind People Have to Face When Living Life

It's nice to see you again!👋 This week, I'd like to share you with some online researches about the obstacle s of the blind.  What are the c hallenges blind people have to face when living life? 1. Navigating Around Places The biggest challenge for a blind person, especially the one with the complete loss of vision, is to navigate around places. Obviously, blind people roam easily around their house without any help because they know the position of everything in the house.
